The August 2013 release of the Localytics Dashboard has revamped and simplified the Dashboard viewing experience. The biggest differences are around navigation and the usage, engagement and events reports.
The basic navigational sidebar remains, however the reports are now split up into six distinct sections.
- Usage and Engagement
Usage and Engagement charts, which used to exist in their own sections within the Dashboard, now coexist within the “analyze.”
Attributes are now part of the events reports directly, and not accessed in a separate report.
Basic Chart Features
Through the reports, there are a few basic features that will available on nearly every page.
- Application Picker
At the upper left there is the dropdown to select which application to view data for. You may also search for specific application names here.
- Date Range
In the upper right you may pick the period to view the report for. The default time period when you open the Dashboard is 30 days.
- Switching Between Reports
In the left navigation panel you may pick between the various types of reports available in the Dashboard. Within the analyze set of reports, there are additional charts to switch between below the application picker.
Filters are available next to the date picker in the upper right for all charts. This isolates certain data for consumption.
- Viewing Options
Viewing options will be specific to each chart, but may be found under the date picker and support options such as turning on and off annotations.
- Export to CSV
Next to the viewing options, you may export the data table for any chart via CSV.
There is also additional help hover text available at the question-mark icon next to the export to CSV option.
Returning To The Old UI
You may find a link to switch back to the old UI after you sign in and select your name to the left. At the bottom of the small window that displays is an option for returning to the old Dashboard reports. You may switch back to the new Dashboard at the bottom of the old Dashboard at any time.
The settings section of the Dashboard allows users to create and edit apps and app permissions for the organization and the individual application. This section is also a quick reference to determine the current size of each app for billing and the Localytics library version being run in each of your apps. You may also assign custom dimensions here.
