Sales Engineer

Localytics is seeking an experienced engineer to provide consulting services to our customers and pre-sales support to our Sales Team. This position will help ensure our customers get the most out of our product and will help will drive new types of reporting and services.

Responsibilities

  • Providing guides on what data customers should and should not collect.
  • Providing recommendations and support for implementation of the analytics tagging.
  • Interfacing directly with publishers as the technical account contact.
  • Updating and maintaining the client libraries used by our customers.
  • Addressing custom reporting requirements not possible with the existing reporting infrastructure.

To be successful the candidate will need to be able to quickly understand a customer’s analytics needs and provide strong guidance about how to meet them. This requires considering the business, technology, and marketing questions that need to be answered. Many times this role involves identifying customer questions that are not valuable and suggesting alternatives. The candidate must also be technical and able to work with the engineers to see that the integration is successful. For customers with needs not addressed by the existing product, the candidate must have the ability to process the raw data to answer specific business questions.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing software development, preferably with mobile applications.
  • Experience consulting or working with clients in a similar capacity.
  • Experience with analytics, both integration and reporting.
  • Experience working with large volumes of data – Hadoop is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both business and technical topics.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple customers.


Rails Web Application Developer

Localytics is seeking a talented web application developer to become the third member of our Web Team. The successful candidate will work on our main analytics dashboard used by many of the largest app publishers in the world and for some of the most popular apps in the App Store. This is an important role that will have an significant impact on the direction of our product and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Building feature functionality on our Rails 3.1 web application.
  • Developing sophisticated user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
  • Writing unit and integration tests.
  • Researching and applying best practices for building and scaling a world class web application.

We value passion and ability over experience so while we are looking for candidates who have a background in web application development, we are willing to invest in a team member to learn Ruby on Rails.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with the following web technologies: HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • At least 2 years of experience with a web application framework such as Django, Rails or a J2EE-based framework.
  • A passion for new web technologies such as CSS3, Responsive Design and the latest JavaScript techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux based systems.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
